The Past Members Association
The Past Members is an important group within The Girls' Brigade Ireland family. It's a way for older members to keep ties with their friends without actually being a leader. We at Headquarters view the past members as a very important part of the GB community and we wish to encourage younger ladies to get involved, bring new ideas and help the Past Members Association appeal to a wider audience!
The Past Members Committee meet a couple of times a year, usually in a Past Member’s home and so the evening is made all the more enjoyable because as plans and decisions are put in place, we get to enjoy a beautiful supper!
A Past Member’s dinner or lunch is held once a year, which is a great opportunity for all of our members to get together. Also an Annual Carol Service is held in a different parish each year. Both of these events in our calendar are very important to us as we meet ‘girls’ who we have crossed paths with during our years spent in our respective companies and get to reminisce to our hearts content.
We would dearly like to see some younger past members joining our group bringing with them new ideas, enthusiasm and a fresh outlook so that we can ensure the continuation of the Past Members Association in the years ahead.
