We are so excited to welcome girls back to Girls’ Brigade for this new session!
This week, our Companies are starting back up for the new term. We love seeing our members come back after the summer break and hearing all their stories. In fact, for some members, we are seeing them again after a much longer break due to the pandemic. Of course, we also love welcoming new members into our Companies!
Around the country, girls will be starting in Tiny Tots for the first time. We hope that they will love it and will remain members of The Girls’ Brigade Ireland for many years. But you don’t have to be a Tiny Tot to join GB! You can start at any age and you will be sure to have lots of fun and make new friends!
Starting Back after COVID-19
Our National Board and all of our Captains and leaders have worked hard to make Girls’ Brigade as safe as possible. Girls’ Brigade classes might look a little different this year as we adjust, but the fun and learning will not change! The most up to date info on COVID-19 for our members and their parents can be found at Important Covid-19 Updates.
#BeeKind with The Girls’ Brigade Ireland
Every year we choose a theme to focus on and this year our theme is #BeeKind. Throughout the pandemic we have been inspired by stories of kindness. For this reason, it made sense to choose it as our theme. Girls will be encouraged to Be Kind to themselves, to their families and communities, and to the planet.
As Companies are starting back we know they’ll love our new Scripture Programme which focuses on this theme. We have also created a pack of programme ideas for Explorer Leaders on the theme.
Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages for an exciting update about a national event taking place in November. We will be holding an exciting fundraising event to support our two Charities of the Year. This will take place in time for World Kindness Day on November 13th.
Competitions and Events
We hope to run all our usual competitions and events this year. Of course these are dependent on the public health situation. The health and safety of our members and supporters is the most import thing.
Details about our National Competitions are all available for GB leaders on the Leaders Resources section of our website.
