As part of the theme “GB Cares for the World” Castleknock Girls’ Brigade have recently adopted a seal ‘Lavendar’ at the Seal Sanctuary and the girls are getting regular updates of photographs and videos of her progress.
Lavender is a little female grey seal pup from Achill Island, Co. Mayo She was an orphan under 2 weeks old when she was found, and underweight at only 14kg. Initially the lovely vet helping didn’t think she stood a chance and thought she might need to be euthanized. Thankfully she has responded really well to treatment and has perked right up and has a real spark for life.
