On Saturday 30th March 2019 the 40th Company, Manorhamilton held their Annual Display – but with a difference! Joan Nicoll, our National Director, was totally unaware that the evening was essentially a farewell and thank you from all of District 5 as she was due to retire later in the year. What a night – Joan got a real surprise and with gifts, a special song in her honour there were plenty of tears …..and they weren’t all Joans!
On the 8th June this year we officially said farewell to both Joan Nicoll, our National Director and Sarah Swann our Office Administrator at a lunch held in the Sandymount Hotel which was attended by many Captains, Officers and friends of the two girls, including their family members. After a beautiful lunch there were presentations made to both Joan and Sarah from the National Board to thank them both for their wonderful years of loyal and dedicated service to The Girls’ Brigade Ireland.
