Re-Opening GB – Info for Parents

The National Board and all the GB leaders have been working hard over the last few months to find ways to open up our organisation in the safest way possible.

We have developed Reopening GB Guidelines in line with advice from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs. Our Captains are all completing an induction training course run by the National Youth Council of Ireland before re-opening. Our National Board and National Secretary are linking with all Companies to support them as needed.

Please Note: No face-to-face Girls’ Brigade classes will take place while the whole country remains at Level 5. Advice will be given to GB Companies about re-opening again in line with changing public health advice.

The Girls’ Brigade Ireland National Board 20/10/2020

Girls’ Brigade will look a little different this year. Many Companies are meeting online for the first few months, some will do a mix of online and in-person classes. Our ability to do PE and dance activities is limited by the restrictions on sports classes, so the programme might look different for some Companies.

We are asking all members to complete a short questionnaire each week before attending an in-person GB class. This video will explain to you what you need to do.

If a parent is filling out the questionnaire, remember that you should answer the questions on behalf of your daughter.
