A huge congratulations to our Junior Karen who became the Connacht Champion in the Under-12 1500m walk in Galway!
Karen Mulvaney-Kelly, is a member of 40th Company Manorhamilton GB
Karen is an aspiring young athlete who has represented her local area, county and club – North Leitrim AC – in various Track & Field disciplines. In June 2019 Karen won the U12 1500m Walk in the Connacht Athletics Championships in Galway University. She has now set her sights on an All-Ireland medal next year!
Karen’s sisters, Lara and Sarah, are also successful athletes. All three sisters got a great start in life by joining Girls’ Brigade at age three.
Lara won an unprecedented FOUR Connacht Athletics Championship Titles in Sligo IT in June 2019 – U17 Shot Putt, Discus, Javelin and Hammer.
Younger sister Sarah also recorded the fastest individual 600m time in team events in the U11 Connaght Athletics Championships in Galway University.
We are very proud of their achievements and we can’t wait to see where they go next!
